Description

“Martaerials” is an exhibition of aerial perspectives of the Australian landscape.

Introduced about 8 years ago, my aerial perspective paintings have been highly sought after.

Works from this series has brought many awards and a lot of recognition to my work.

Aerial perspectives are not new but there’s no one out there painting them as I do.

Martaerials are a uniquely original style, making them distinctive

even though the Australian landscape has long been used as a source of inspiration.

These works link the outback to the urban scape,

they are metaphors for those places of peace and solitude so hard to find in a

world that rarely takes the time to see the sun rise or even set.

We think of the outback as arid, but it is immensely rich and spiritual.

For many of us, the truly arid landscape is our urban world.

“I like that my work is true to Australia and its harshness,

these are not meant to be pretty pictures; they actively narrate the

experience of our time.”
